Durable access panel for kids’ bathroom?

Putting one in the kids’ bathroom wall for the shower valves. Need something really tough because little hands will definitely bang on it. Preferably no sharp edges and easy to clean. Suggestions?

Kids are brutal on anything within reach. I steer clear of thin metal panels—they dent immediately. Thick molded plastic is much better. The one I installed has rounded corners and a smooth surface that wipes clean with just a damp cloth. The latch is recessed so they can’t pry it open easily with toys. It’s held up to plenty of accidental soccer-ball kicks already. I chose a heavy-duty access panel for drywall and it still looks brand new after a year of rowdy kids. Paint it with semi-gloss for extra wipeability.
